bh cosmetics' review

I have recently realized that I very rarely discuss the brand of shadow I use in my tutorials. So I figure, what better way to tell you about them, then in an entire review!

[Why an entire palette?]
In general, buying in bulk is more cost effective.
Let's do the math here:
120 palette - 3rd edition is 34.95.
Let's round that up to 45.00 after tax/shipping.
120 colors at a total of 45.00,
each shadow comes to an amazing 0.38!
Most shadows at this quality run anywhere
between 10.00 and 20.00 EACH!
So, not only are you saving about 9.00 to 19.00 per shadow,
but you have pretty much every single color you need
at your finger tips, all at once! Who could ask for more?!
Oh wait, you can! Each palette has a variety of neutral
and brightly colored shadows, yet each is different from
the other, meaning you can find a palette that is best for you.

[Are there any downfalls?]
Well, I don't know about you, but when I have too many
options, it takes me that much longer to make up my mind.
My makeup routine has definitely increase from a quick 5
or 10 minutes to a minimum or 15, simply because I can't
decide what colors to use, what colors match, and when to stop.

[The down low]
Listed below are the 3 120 palettes.

HOWEVER, each edition also comes in an 88 version as well.
There are also entire palettes of neutral shadows, blush, and lip colors.

Ok, here we go!

120 palette - 1st edition

29.95 at bhcosmetics.com

[likes]
Great range of blues, greens, pinks, yellows, and smokey shadows.
Multiple highlight colors.
Shimmer, matte and satin colors included.

[dislikes]
Far more brights than neutrals; not enough neutrals.
I've never understood swirled colors where the shadow
looks speckled of two or more colors.

120 palette - 2nd edition

29.95 at bhcosmetics.com

[likes]
has it all:
- mattes
- satins
- shimmers
- neutrals
- brights
- pastels
not too much of one color
great neutrals

[dislikes]
many of the browns have a red tone
would personally like a few more neutrals

120 palette - 3rd edition

34.95 at bhcosmetics.com

[likes]
more smokey colors
more pastel and neutral colors

[dislikes]
too many pastels
not enough brights
too much gray
too much blue
too much highlight/whiteish

[A last word or two]
I own the 120 - 2nd edition.
BH Cosmetics, as well as other cosmetic brands,
are sold on amazon, and often for less money.
Conveniently, I had 20.00 in amazon gift cards
so my total came to a whopping 17.00,
including tax and shipping. Which means, each
shadow was not 0.38, but 0.14!

In addition to low costs and high quality,
BH Cosmetics does no testing on animals!

Regarding which palette to buy, it's all based on personal preference of what you are more likely to use. I personally feel that the 2nd edition has the widest variety and is the best place to start. I am currently contemplating getting an 88 neutral palette because I feel that all three editions are lacking in that area and personally would like more variety in that department.

That's all for now! Stay beautiful!
